UFC Fight Night Atlantic City is bringing us quite a pair of fights at the top of the card. Lightweight contenders Kevin Lee and Edson Barboza collide in the main event while top featherweights Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson meet in the co-main event.
Despite Lee coming in one pound over the limit, he will still square off with the Brazilian on Saturday night in an important fight for the landscape of the 155-pound division. Both fighters are coming off disappointing losses in their last UFC Fight Night bouts to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson. Meanwhile, Edgar makes his return just six weeks after suffering a brutal first-round knockout loss to Brian Ortega at UFC 222. It was the first time in his professional career that Edgar had been stopped in a fight.Swanson's last loss also came at the hands of Ortega, losing by second-round submission. While both fighters are coming off of losses, a win on Saturday night could quickly vault them back into title contention. After announcing Max Holloway vs. Brian Ortega for UFC 226 in July, you never know when an injury could pop up and vault you into a title fight.
Here's a look at the full fight card with the latest odds from Bovada. Note: Leslie Smith vs. Aspen Ladd and Magomed Bibulatov vs. Ulka Sasaki were canceled after Ladd missed weight and Bibulatov suffered an injury. The main event features two top-level lightweights looking to rebound from disappointing losses in their last fights. Edson Barboza was beaten down by Khabib Nurmagomedov in December at UFC 219 and Kevin Lee was submitted by Tony Ferguson in November at UFC 217.With Nurmagomedov and Ferguson scheduled to meet at UFC 223 in what was supposed to be a lightweight title bout–before the latter was injured–it only makes sense that the two fighters they beat to get to that point should face each other.
In the co-main event, another pair of fighters looking to rebound from a loss will battle. Both Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson loss to Brian Ortega in their last bouts. Edgar was viciously stopped in the first round after an elbow dazed him and a right hand finished the deal.Ortega submitted Swanson with a superb hanging guillotine. The two wins have essentially set Ortega up for a shot at Max Holloway's featherweight title. Meanwhile, Edgar and Swanson need to put themselves back on track to challenge for the strap.
That's a good bit of information about the main and co-main event, but here are the 10 things you should know about UFC Fight Night 128.

Kevin Lee Misses Weight, Magomed Bibulatov, and Aspen Ladd Pulled From the Card
It took Cub Swanson weeks, months even, to get over losing to Frankie Edgar in 2014. He was on the greatest run of his professional fight career — a six-bout win streak — when Edgar ended their fight by submission with four seconds remaining at UFC 57 in Austin, Texas.
It was the latest stoppage in Ultimate Fighting Championship history. Had Swanson, a Coachella Valley native, won the fight, he would have fought for a world featherweight championship, likely in a rematch with Jose Aldo.Conor McGregor instead got the fight with Aldo, and miraculously knocked him out in 13 seconds on his way to becoming a world-renowned combat sports superstar.
Nearly four years later, Swanson has yet to fight for a world title despite winning four of his last six fights since losing to Edgar. The only losses have been to featherweight champion Max Holloway — who has not lost since 2013,UFC Fight Night Live to McGregor — and Brian Ortega, who is unbeaten in 14 fights.
Maybe there’s a title shot with Holloway in Swanson’s future, but that opportunity again goes through Edgar, whom Swanson will face in a rematch Saturday at UFC Fight Night in Atlantic City, N.J.Swanson, 34, took the fight last month on relatively short notice for the opportunity to avenge a loss that was perhaps the most damaging of his career.
“I’ve got a lot to prove to show that I’ve gotten a lot better,” Swanson said. “It’s a fight I’m excited for.”Swanson said he is dedicating the fight to Ramon Diaz, his first jiu-jitsu instructor, who was shot to death in Cathedral City late last month. Swanson said the 47-year-old was a father figure at a time when he needed one, and that he would not be where he is in his career without him.
He trained for the bout while moving to Orange County with his girlfriend, Kenda Perez, and their eight-month-old daughter, Royal, so that he could be closer to the Anaheim gym where he has been training with a team that includes UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw. The move is also to accommodate Perez, who is pregnant with twin sons and will not have to endure the desert heat for her second pregnancySwanson (25-8) typically spends at least part of his camps sparring with world-class boxers at the Indio Boys & Girls Club. Though that was still part of his training early in camp, he focused more on kickboxing, wrestling, martial arts for this fight.
He worked with an Ironman conditioning coach who put Swanson through “some pretty gnarly conditioning sessions” that lasted for up to three hours apiece. Swanson said he’s reached new heights in his training, and is as ready as he can be for this bout. He’s encouraged by how, in a loss to Ortega last December, he was able to dominate Ortega with punches before allowing him to take the fight to the ground and win with a submission hold late in the bout.
Ortega then went and knocked Edgar (22-6-1) out with punches in the first round of their bout last month in Las Vegas.“He kind of dominated Frankie in that fight,” said Swanson, the UFC’s fourth-ranked featherweight. “I feel like everybody knows I was dominating Ortega and he had to kind of get in desperation mode and went to a UFC Fight Live Stream submission hold and got me there.
